Attention, shadowy VRWC groups: start primarying John “Hi, I’m an idiot” Tierney.

Seriously, what’s the freaking point of having a sinister shadow conspiracy if we can’t use it to mess with this guy’s head, anyway?

A House Democrat inspired by the last James Bond movie has offered legislation to produce handguns with “personalization technology.”

The idea is to produce guns that can only be used by the gun’s owners. Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) cited the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall, as inspiration for the bill.

…and I don’t want to kill any of my readers’ brain cells, so I’ll interrupt there: NO.  Bad Congressman!  Bad! No biscuit!

PS: Seriously (well, half-seriously.  Maybe even just a quarter-seriously).  Pick the fifty most secure Democratic seats.  Find a candidate for each one.  Give them each $100K for the primary*.  Repeat.  That’s $5M a cycle, or $2.5 million a year.  Yes, they will throw most of that money away… but eventually the law of averages will catch up with the targeted Congressmen.  Besides: Congressmen worried about their own seats are not Congressmen willing to pass along surplus campaign contributions to other Congressmen, pretty much by definition.

*I’m sure that they’ll be able to come up with a way to make it all nice and legal.  This is why we have lawyers.

  1. What, he never saw Sylvester Stallone’s _Judge Dredd_? It was out nearly 2 decades before Skyfall.

  2. I’ve had a liberal acquaintance suggest something similar and he was stumped when I countered with “So who has to pay for this extra level of technology?”

    1. And who gets sued when this magical technology doesn’t work in a self-defense situation?
(Hint: NOT the idiot legislators who passed the law that required it.)

    2. Why, the government pays, of course. Idiot liberals cannot seem to grasp the concept that that’s actually the citizenry in this country.
