What is going on with that missing Malaysian airplane?
At a press conference today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed what many, including Slate, had already inferred about the fate of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: that it had not succumbed to an accident but instead been diverted as a result of “deliberate action by someone on the plane.” Further information release by the Malaysian government indicated that the plane ended its flight in a restive area of Central Asia.
The story already reads like the preface to a techno-thriller.

Is it in the drink, or on the ground?
If it’s on the ground, is it in pieces or on some kind of strip somewhere?
If it was taken for some reason, who backed the taking?
Usual Mideast cranks?
Ukrainian kleptocrats with a stockpiled bomb they want to airmail to Putin?
Well my best guess is that would be the usual Islamic Terrorist groups or Iran.

I really don’t see Ukraine having the resources to actually pull a hijacking, plus they gave up their nukes (which is probably why Putin is bullying them (along with the fact we have a President that tries to appease our enemies while backstabbing our allies)).

I can’t see drug smugglers stealing a 777, seriously, it’s too high profile, and you have a massive search underway for the aircraft, and from what I’ve heard on the news, the Chinese are PO’ed. If they wanted an aircraft for drug smuggling, they’d be complete idiots due to the size of the aircraft. So this has to be terrorism related.
