I mean, don’t get me wrong. We got a bunch of guys out there with citizenship papers who are also trying their best to topple the US of A. I’m all for capturing them – then hanging them for treason – but if one of them (while on foreign soil) absorbs a lethal dose of kinetic energy via a drone strike then I’m not going to lose much sleep over it.
But damn.

78% in favor of targeted killings of American citizens. On MSNBC. So much for the antiwar movement, huh? – Because a number like that tells me that the Democrats only cared about ending the GWOT because they just simply hated George W Bush like poison. Which is a really poor reason to do something, just in case nobody’s ever mentioned that to you.

PS: This was inevitable, of course. And when a Republican is back in office in three years the Democrats will be right back over there and trying to make time with the antiwar movement. Who will let them do that, because that particular movement has always been short of basic self-respect.
Quibble. Last sentence needs more lemon juice.
.
“..always been short of basic self-respect, and thus fails to meet its’ goals.”, or something to that effect, would be more caustic.

The scary thing is that Democrats often seem to view Republicans as more of an enemy than the terrorists. That’s what has me worried about this.
Seem?
.
I’d say they’re remarkably up-front about this.
.
I’d also say that when someone says they want to kill you, it’s best to believe them.
They’re short of self-respect in much the same way that Deep Roy is short of being an NBA player.
A person who leaves the US and trains to kill Americans is an enemy combatant; we didn’t agonize over shelling Nazi, Italian, or Japanese units that happened to have US citizens in them in WWII.
We didn’t during the Civil War, and they were on American soil.
