I know, I know: Batman vs. Superman looks… the way it looks. Still, here are some more:
Man in the High Castle: also, this (which you may not have heard of).
RON PERLMAN IS THE VIGILANT HAMMER OF A VENGEFUL GOD. Yeah. You’ll watch that.
That’s Simon Pegg in there. Visibly wondering what marvelous favor he did for God that one time, that he gets to have this life of his now.
This pushes a lot of buttons for me.
…Anyway, this could go on and on and on. I’m starting to wish RedState had sent me to Comic-Con.
Dear Lord. Star. Wars. New. Movies.
Better. Not. Suck.
They’re steering hard away from CGI. While the actors are actually interacting with each other, and having fun doing it.
Those are certainly promising hints that the depredations of Lucas are firmly in the past.
Bats vs Supes looks wrong, in the way the last Superman movie was wrong. But it also looks like Lex Luthor is stirring up trouble between Batman, and Superman, and the rest of the world, which almost makes some sense.
Speaking of trailers, have you seen the one being made for MTV, based on the Elfstones of Shannara? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crjkQHnDYu0
Two things.
One- if Simon Pegg gets to be in both Star Wars and Trek, I’m going to start a movement to get Ron Perlman in both series too.
.
Two- Ace was going on about a move away from CGI earlier today, and I hope he’s correct. I don’t mind most CGI work, but CGI fire is often distracting due to its non-fireness. And CGI blood is almost certainly guaranteed to drag me completely out of any immersion I have in a film. Use a squib or if you can’t, change the shot so that the audience can’t see it.
I have been reminded that Perlman was in ST: Nemesis and did some voices for the various Star Wars series in recent years. So, nevermind.
