I will be vending at Doxacon!

I sent over e-copies of FROZEN DREAMS and TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION to the Doxacon organizers, and they decided it’d be alright for me to vend there. It’ll be on November 3rd and 4th in Arlington, VA, will feature Tim Powers and Ken Hite, and will offer other programming involving the intersections of religion, faith, and fantasy/science fiction. I am looking forward to it; the convention promises to be pretty neat-o, and it’s close. I mean, traffic will be maddening, but it’s only for a couple of days.

Well, I’m definitely going to Doxacon…

…I’m just now working out whether or not I’ll be vending at Doxacon. While at least some of the programming is obviously of interest to me, and I’ve never been hostile about religion in my writing, I don’t write Christian fantasy or science fiction. I was forthright about this with the people running the convention, because I’d much rather have a polite and rancor-free ‘No’ going in. We’ll see.

I am thinking about this. I am thinking about this real hard.

Doxacon is a faith and fandom convention in Arlington, which is easily reachable for me. I have no idea if they have vendor space (it’s an Eastern Orthodox-sponsored event, so I’m not sure what the deal is, there*). It’s also my anniversary weekend. Still… I’m thinking about it.

*My work is at least Christian-friendly, and I obviously don’t scorn religion, or treat the religious as figures of fun. It’s not Christian-themed, though.
