DUST’s ‘The Black Hole.’
A bit old, but The Black Hole tracks remarkably well to the stereotypical player-character’s reaction to something that’s just flat-out wrong, but not actively dangerous. Assuming that the PC in question was ethically vague in outlook. No, not all of them are, of course.
‘Planet Unknown’ (DUST)
Saw a truncated version of this one on Facebook: the full version of Planet Unknown is below. It is well worth the eight minutes or so of your time. I’m absurdly quite proud of these robots, actually: they come across as pretty cool people.
Say what you like about the future, but the low-budget, independent SF films these days are AWESOME.
Take a half hour off to watch ‘Dust.’
For two reasons. One, it’s good.
Two, its mere existence should probably terrify Hollywood. Details on the budget are sketchy, but it was probably seven digits, maybe six. Good luck getting a major studio to put something together like that for less than eight. Wave of the future, folks: after a certain point, our eyes just can’t tell the difference in SFX quality anymore.
