The Film Twitter reaction to EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE is definitely weird: half of them loved it, and the rest want it to die in a grease fire. It’s not the usual tribal breakdown, either. Me, personally, I had a fine old time watching it, but clearly it’s not to everybody’s taste.

When they’re disappointed in a movie, Honest Trailers sometimes has a little bit of trouble getting the brutal/funny ratio right. I think that in DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS they managed it. At least, I laughed, and I liked the movie.
PS: I do agree with HT that EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE is definitely worth watching, by the way. It’s apparently odd how I can manage to like both of these films at the same time, and on their own terms. I suppose I just lack anything resembling consistent taste…

Turns out that the buzz for EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE was sufficiently good that my usual go-to theater is actually showing it. I’m looking forward to checking it out. I don’t really think of myself as a movie snob – to put it mildly – but the movies A24 puts out are usually worth a serious look-see. I don’t always go to see one of their flicks, but I always take the decision to do so seriously.
Plus, it’s an opportunity to go out and grab a cold beer and a hot chicken sandwich. I now treasure that almost as much as I treasure going to an actual movie theater. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder…
