Anybody see GLADIATOR 2?

I figured I’d skip it, because my biggest problem with GLADIATOR is that, well, it’s not very historical. I’m one of those guys who was all, like, Why are we cutting away from the war? That’s a lot more interesting than the arena combat! I figured I wouldn’t like more of the same, but people do seem to like the new movie. Is it worth catching, considering that I have a sort-of free movie ticket for it anyway?

…this makes me just a little less suspicious of GLADIATOR 2. Although they still should have gotten that insane script about Maximus being immortal and linked up with Jesus somehow? That would have been amazing. And, again, insane.

Bad news: they’re making the *wrong* Gladiator sequel.

The new GLADIATOR 2 will be some nonsense about the nephew of Commodus and whatnot, and not the script where Maximus becomes this immortal warrior dude who ends up being sent by the gods to stop Christianity (spoiler warning: he does not). No, really. This script really does exist, and everything. And I suspect it will end up sounding a lot better than whatever they’re going to come up with.

This is why we can’t have nice things.
