It’s a nice, sunny day here on the East Coast. Enjoy as you like, and be thankful for the people who made sure you could enjoy it in peace. …If not quite ‘quiet,’ thanks to the cicadas.

It is Memorial Day.
I hope you’re all doing okay, and that you’re seeing as much of your family and loved ones as you can. As well as remembering those who fought and died so that the rest of us could have quiet lives. It seems a little extra-important this year.
I do not say ‘Happy Memorial Day.’
But I will say that I hope that you can enjoy today in peace and safety. Many good men and women gave everything so that we can have the chance to do so. Thank you.
I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend.
I am fortunate in that my immediate family has not had anyone recently who was killed serving their country, but I am appreciative of the service of those who did give their lives so that I could continue to enjoy this one in peace and prosperity. Wherever they are now, I hope that it’s a good place. They deserve it.
Thank you.
Holiday Posting in effect.
Enjoy your weekend. We’ve got a family reunion scheduled for ours; it should be fun. And not too extended, either. So relax, have a beverage of choice, and I’ll see you off and on until Sunday.
I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend.
Obviously, we’re all back home here. And by God I am going nowhere for a while. Mind you, in about a week or so the kids are out of school so I may feel the need to amend that stance just a tad…

PS: Everything back to normal tomorrow. Or as normal as things ever get around here. You know the drill.
‘Taps.’
Everybody have a safe Memorial Day weekend, folks. Drive safe, stay safe, return safe. This is non-negotiable.
Weird posting again this weekend.
My wife’s finally home, but Memorial Day weekend is going to be a madhouse and a half. I swear to God, after this weekend I go nowhere for a while. I may even look into acquiring some barnacles. Maybe I can start a fashion trend…
Tweet / Picture of the Day, Memorial Day edition.
Comment unnecessary, I think.

It is, of course, Memorial Day weekend.
It’s always seemed a little presumptuous for me to come up with something that fits the occasion. Our war dead know what they gave up, so that we can have our comfortable lives. And can those of us who didn’t give it all up really get what it means to do so? …I don’t know.
So, have a thoughtful Memorial Day.
