It’s personally disappointing, the way that I’m having difficulty getting a sustainable system going for this year’s NaNoWriMo. It’s just so useful for generating manuscripts, and I want to write this novel. I just have a bunch of other stuff going on, and switching gears is harder than I expected.
I’m not canceling it, though. There are things I can still do to get back on track. Starting with remembering that nobody’s paying me to actually do this, so I should stop feeling bad about not hitting self-imposed benchmarks that literally nobody else cares about as much. That’s just not psychologically healthy on my part…
