Personally, I thought RED ONE was fine, for given values of ‘fine.’ I’m not surprised Honest Trailers didn’t like it, though. I mean, they have to watch a lot of this stuff. All the time. Me? I can pick and choose my algorithmic homogenized cinematic product. That does make a difference.

Continue reading My mini-review of RED ONE.Those are some good numbers RED ONE’s pulling. Critics hated it + audience loved it = big, sloppy fun, usually. I could do with some big, sloppy fun.
I mean that as a compliment. I am absolutely down for an adorably stupid Christmas action movie, particularly when everybody in it has decided to go with the flow. I also want to know more about Santa Claus’s position vis-a-vis the US armed forces. Judging from the uniforms, obviously NORAD is all up in this business.
