…Yeah. Mustn’t brag, but I feel that there’s some prime clickbait in that title. But it’s ethical clickbait, because that’s what’s happening:

Warner Bros. talking to Mel Gibson about Suicide Squad 2.
Apparently Hacksaw Ridge covered a multitude of sins: “Mel Gibson is mulling joining the DC Extended Universe … as a director. Warner Bros. is courting the actor-director to helm Suicide Squad 2 and the sides are early in talks, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. No official offer has been made nor has any commitment.”
…There’s a comment at that original story (yeah, I know) that’s sheer genius. To paraphrase: if this happens, the ensuing situation is pretty much the premise of Suicide Squad, isn’t it? Guy with undeniable talent, but equally undeniably guilty of doing something awful, will have to work for an arguably even more awful organization and do questionable things, in order to get time off for good behavior. It’s so meta they should have Gibson play himself in the movie.

PS: I have a beef with what Mel Gibson did, but if he’s repented, then he’s repented.
PPS: I see NerdBastards just put up a link, too.
The somewhat brutally exasperated ‘Suicide Squad’ Honest Trailer.
I understand why, too. I liked Suicide Squad, but DC still hasn’t gotten its stuff together yet when it comes to movies. Which is, like Honest Trailers, I am also somewhat worried about the Wonder Woman movie. I would very much like them to not throw away the multiple advantages that they have, going in, with that property.
Apropos of nothing: the Suicide Squad soundtrack was pretty boss.
…Do the kids still say things like that? And if they still do, is it in earnest, or is it done kind of ironically? I’m going to guess ironically, probably.
The Suicide Squad soundtrack was still pretty boss.
My Suicide Squad mini-review.
Short version: it was a perfectly enjoyable supervillain flick. I’m not sure why the critics were so upset: it was a good deal less brooding than most of the rest of what DC has been trying to throw at us lately. And, yes, they’re all bad guys and that’s kind of the point, right? As long as you don’t expect it to be as good as a Marvel movie – and this one has come closer than usual – you should be OK.
The new Suicide Squad trailer.
Well… it might not suck. They get points for tacitly reference a key part of the plot of Superman II*, at least. It’s a question that SOMEBODY would be bringing up, at any rate.
Don't forget, they're the bad guys. #SuicideSquad – in cinemas August 5.https://t.co/FIAEomuh8E

*We’re all on the same page about how Superman II was the best Superman movie, yes?
The problematical ‘Suicide Squad’ Comic-Con trailer.
Sonny highlights the ambiguity on this one pretty well:

You really can’t tell just how messed up this film is going to be, and whether or not it’s going to be the kind of messed up that we’d all be able to groove to. I never read the original comics, so I don’t have any kind of expectations thereof; I assume that somebody here has, so feel free to sing out. What’s the current reaction from fans? Anticipation? Dread? Dreadful anticipation? Anticipatory dread?
