…Just realized. By my rule of thumb, the fact that this parody exists indicates that The Backstreet Boys are not entirely without artistic merit. Really, I’m as alarmed as you are.

Of course I’m up for this. Now all that has to happen is that he tour near me. But I live near DC, so that’s highly likely.
Tweet of the Day, …Wait, What, @alyankovic? edition.
Full orchestral tour?
I’m finalizing the set list for my 2019 orchestral tour this week – which of my songs have you always wanted to hear with full symphony accompaniment?? Please let me know and hashtag it #StringsAttached

…I need to reset my brain.

‘Africa’ (Weezer, starring Weird Al Yankovic)
Got turned onto this.

That’s not Weird Al singing and that’s not Weezer playing, by the way: they’re lip-syncing to the actual song. Also: the set is derived from Weezer’s Undone – The Sweater Song, for we are deep in the land of the Meta-Joke. As one might expect from a project that involves both Weezer, and Weird Al.
Still: not bad.
Weird Al/Weezer does life cover of Toto’s Africa.
I’m gonna just say it.

The live Weezer cover was not that great, until Weird Al showed up. Then it became great. I’m sorry to say that, but in your heart you know it’s true.
‘Party in the CIA.’
OK, so it’s my ringtone.
Party in the CIA, Weird Al Yankovic
And, someday, hearing that will horrify someone. I kind of look forward to that day.
Tonight is the last night of Weird Al’s tour…
…and if you missed it, I am legitimately sorry to hear that. It has been, honestly, a triumph for Weird Al; by all accounts, he is honestly surprised that people would flock to hear songs like “The Night Santa Went Crazy” or “Your Horoscope For Today.” But we did. And it was worth driving in the snow at night in Washington DC to go see.
:pause:
…Very little else is.
‘(This Song’s Just) Six Words Long.’
(This Song’s Just) Six Words Long, Weird Al Yankovic
This may be the single cruelest song that Weird Al Yankovic has ever written. What makes it extra-cruel is that the criticism is spot-on, expertly presented, and issued by somebody who happens to be as musically gifted as George Harrison was. I’m impressed.
‘Tacky.’
Stuck in my head.
