Tweet of the Day, Not Just ‘No,’ Actually edition.

‘Hell, no.”

It will suck. It will suck, because the original concept worked only because the show was steeped in the Nineties, and that was twenty years ago, and that era is dead. An updated, successful version would be effectively a different show, so you might as well call it something else. And Hollywood doesn’t have the moral courage to make a successful updated version.

So: not just no. Hell, no.

PS: This is a great webcomic that Shaenon really needs to start up again.

  1. I want only two simple things from my TV from here on out:
An episode of something, anything, as downright subtly hilarious as the X-Files episode “Bad Blood” (trailer park vampires, Luke Wilson is the sheriff) and an episode of something, anything, as tightly plotted and tense as BSG’s inaugural non-miniseries episode “33”.
    .
If I thought I’d get either of those out of this, I’d be there in a heartbeat in the best darn Smoking Man cosplay I could afford.

Well, have you ever noticed that adding a kid to the family can sort of eliminate any spare time you once might have had?

  3. eh, it’ll get green-lighted for 2017 or 2018, when the ideologues can safely hate the government again…
