I’ll be happy when November hits and I don’t feel quite the same urgency about political blogging, either. Alas, this is the busy season for that sort of thing; although I actually had a GURPS thought for the first time in months the other day*…

For those who care [and if you don’t, don’t worry about the following gibberish]: what would Centrum do with the people who happened to be descended from the pre-Last War ruling dynasty? Somebody from that timeline’s ruling family would have been in Terraustralis at the time, and unless the Centrum of the time was extraordinarily ruthless – even by Centran standards – surely there would have been survivors, no matter how thin the blood might be. And today, of course, Centran thinking hates any sort of prejudice that isn’t meritocratic-based.
Which is why there could be a Eleanor Plantagenet, Unattached Agent – and who is even more disquieting to her own side than she is towards Infinity, for reasons that the former have difficulty even articulating. Even if she doesn’t actually have a secret inter-dimensional base where she’s building an army to conquer her version of Earth and restore the Old Empire.
OK I hadn’t actually read Centrum’s history, so I went and checked on that to understand this.
Sounds fun.
Heh, I’ve done enough RPG’ing that that made some kind of sense to me, even though I have no clue the scenario 😉
For my money, she’s conspiring with Benjamin Bathurst, the Ranking Officer imprisoned on Coventry by the I-Cops. She’s planning a “Great Escape” of every paranormal threat the I-Cops thought they’d locked up, aimed at wrecking Infinity. Then, when the Centrum moves to take advantage of the chaos, she moves up. Nothing causes speedy promotions like a big old war…
:pause:
DAMMIT, KEN!
