You gave me a wonderful present yesterday, and I am truly grateful for it. And I have no desire to appear greedy. But if You could see Yourself clear to convincing Barack Obama to make Claire McCaskill the next Attorney General, that would be wonderful.

  3. As much as I hate that Tax-dodging, Dirty Trick Queen, who is the Wicked Witch of this state, I must dissent on 2 grounds:

    1) Jay Nixon, in all his incompetence, is still the MO Gov. Which means he would get to appoint her replacement. Oh yay. I can see a Carnahan payoff here.

    2) Claire as Attorney General would be free to pursue her *quaint* interpretation of Title IX, including the implementation of Star Chambers in public universities that encourage women to accuse any man who looks at them while in class of rape. And then to make the standard “preponderance of evidence,” which is satisfied if 2 friends back her up–sort of, in the ‘honor meeting.’ Oh, and even better, there are currently examples where these ‘convictions’ have been taken to court, the man acquitted, the woman convicted of perjury on the spot, and then when they go back to the school to get the record expunged, they refuse based on the ‘evidence’ of her testimony.

    No really. We don’t need Claire McCaskill anywhere near the Judicial System.

  4. Well, I’ve been presuming that Obama would nominate Tom Perez (since, really, a racial cold-war is all that matters to the President) and that the GOP would knuckle under and let him have the job.

    If McCaskill wants it, she’s probably a somewhat less offensive choice, and as a Senator her confirmation is pretty much guaranteed.

    So…mind you, I’d rather have almost any random person off the street (as long as I could pick the street) than either of them, but if it has to be one or the other (or something assured by Administration vetting to be even worse) then it’s AG McCaskill for me.

  7. Disagree, Moe. She’d do more damage as Gov or AG than she can as a minority Senator. If she runs for and wins Gov, her replacement will be a Dem, will serve out the rest of her term, and will go into the 2018 election as the incumbent.

    Make her suffer, keep her there.
