And So It Begins, Scott Walker edition.

Welcome to the 2016 election cycle.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will launch a new political organization in the coming weeks and has tapped a national political strategist to serve as his campaign manager should he decide to run for president, multiple GOP sources told CNN.

Walker, who was sworn in to a second term in Madison this week, quietly brought on Rick Wiley, a former Republican National Committee political director and veteran of multiple presidential campaigns, about a month ago to build a political operation in advance of the 2016 race, the sources said.

Yeah, Walker’s running.

  1. Good. I could actually support him with a clear conscience.
Jindal’s my guy, but Walker’s much more likely to still be in the race by the time I get to cast a vote.

      1. They’re both in my top-five, I’d be happy with either.

(of course, I’d be thrilled with Walker/Jindal or Jindal/Walker …)

  2. he really really needs to have his foreign policy ideas in order. Bolton would be a good person to help. Pence or Mitch to fill out the ticket and i’ll vote for him repeatedly. 🙂

  3. I like Walker, but I have reservations about his stance on the 2nd Amendment. Does anyone have any comments about that?

    1. Do you have a particular cite that concerns you?

I may be biased because I’m from Chicago, but .. what I’ve seen of Walker’s 2A positions seem .. refreshingly reasonable.

      1. Might have to raise the Resolute Desk a tad .. eh, just shove some extra skulls underneath it.
