How the Hell does Marvel keep DOING this?
What did Marvel do? What bargain was struck? When they opened that door into the Haunted Night, what did they see?

That toy train gets me every time.
They didn’t call it the Silver Age of Comic Books for nothing! Special effects gurus finally figured out how to translate it to the big screen. I mean, really, the number of movies you could do from characters created between 1955 and 1975 is basically unlimited. Flawed, human characters with extraordinary power — perfect for movies today.
Wait till they gross $500 million domestic with Ant Man 2: Rise of The Wasp. They could do it, too. Lord knows I’d go see it.
Looks like they’re making Ant-Man a much more interesting character than he’s traditionally been.
.
That said, going that route has the potential to seriously crowd into Wasp’s role.
.
I have mixed feelings about Ant-Man slipping into the “lovable rogue” archetype. I have no doubt it works better in movie format than “scientist with a stick up his butt”, but can’t help but feel that something important is being lost in the transition.
Apparently at least one of the Ant-Mans (Ant-Men?) was this character type.
That looks amazingly cool.
I’m still holding out for a Strikeforce: Morituri movie/tv show/ANYTHING.
…You might, at that.
Let’s review what Marvel has done.
.
Of their movies, I thought “Hulk” and “Thor 2” could have been better, and I didn’t like “Iron Man 2.” Every other movie, though, I either liked or loved — and “Iron Man” and “Avengers” in particular are instant classics.
.
In TV, “Agent Carter” was an inspired little miniseries, and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is finally becoming the show I thought it could be. (Sure, it took a season-plus to get there, but still — some shows never make it.)
.
And in the future, we’re promised the Civil War storyline, the return of the Guardians, a debut for Doctor Strange AND Black Panther, the expansion of the role played by the Inhumans, and freaking Spider-Man. At long last, Spider-Man as part of a larger Marvel universe.
.
Plus, there’s their whole experiment with turning the Defenders into webseries properties broadcast through Netflix. I haven’t had a chance to check out Daredevil yet, because I’m waiting until I can really mainline it. But I have nothing but high hopes.
.
I HATE DISNEY.
.
…but maybe it’s time to buy their freaking stock, yeah?
The Mouse does seem dedicated to finding new ways to have us make them take our money. I hold out hope that a newly spruced-up, unaltered Star Wars Trilogy will come our way soon.
They announced it a while ago. But no release date yet.
.
Now, if they’d just disavow the prequels…
C’mon, it’s *DISNEY* ..
.
They can release digitally revised versions of these alleged prequels, just as George Lucas did with the originals, only .. this time, they can *fix* stuff.
.
Heck, most of the things that are *wrong* with the alleged prequels are in Disney’s wheelhouse. Surely, the company that brought us the chemistry in Beauty and the Beast can do *something* in post-production with Hayden Christensen..
.
Mew
Not even the mouse can give The Phantom Menace a protagonist.
Doesn’t need a protagonist…
.
Would benefit greatly from shifting the exposition around a bit so it starts running and then loops back to explain *mote fully* why…
.
Oh, and shoot the first person who says “midichlorians”.

Daredevil is absolutely fantastic.
Derp: Forgot the closing tag of the link. My short review.
Marvel sort of reminds me of the South Park episode where Cartman passed himself off as a screenplay-writing robot. When you’re as bankrupt of new ideas as Hollywood is, you’ll gladly sell your soul for a shipping crate full of plots, even if they’re old ones.
This, but also a way to use lots of special effects, which attract the capricious young-male audience, and .. with an interesting side-effect.
.
Remember that one of the roles of comic books used to be imparting a common, uniquely American morality…
.
That’s the era they’re strip-mining here and .. it will be interesting to see what kind of seeds grow.

I was pretty surprised when they announced an Ant-Man movie…I thought they could have picked many other characters. But, the trailer looks great. Nice choice of Paul Rudd too…
