Basically, it comes across as a film major who has decided to use his powers for Good. He’s got some points on how Galaxy Quest was shot that you might find of no small interest. Better than that, the Mikey Neumann actually managed to get me to understand why the filming decisions were important. Sixteen minutes, but I didn’t begrudge the time spent.
New Movies with Mikey! I do a pretty considerable dive in on Galaxy Quest, an underrated classic! https://t.co/SJassC1PYI

That guy is a good guy. He worked on Borderlands (the video game) and participates every year in one of my favorite charity marathons (Desert Bus).
Nobody who is that sound on the brilliance that was the Grabthar’s Hammer bit can be a bad dude, truly.
And he didn’t even mention the scene with Sam Rockwell, Tony Shalhoub, Missi Pyle, and the tentacles!
I hadn’t ever thought to read Sigourney Weaver’s lips, though. Good catch!
What’s interestng is that both this film and Ghostbusters started out as very different films. Galaxy Quest was to be R-rated and very much darker in tone (hence the redubbing of the “Screw this!” line), and Dan Ackroyd’s original script for Ghostbusters leaned far more heavily on his obsession with the paranormal.
