This is, pardon the pun, going to be a monster at the box office.
Bookbub notes that this is only Part 1: “If the film is well received, a second part to the movie may be produced, reports Collider. It would cover the part of the novel where the members of the Losers’ Club are adults who return to battle Pennywise once again.” Actually, if you read the Collider article: the assumption is that there’s going to be a Part 2. …This is a fair assumption. I have not entirely negative things to say about the miniseries, given that the adult actors were better than I expected them to be (Stephen King miniseries tend to have that happen a bit), but telling the story chronologically may simply work better in film form. Easier to jump around in a book than on the big screen.
But we’ll see! Looking forward to this one. It should freak me the [expletive deleted] out. September 8th.
Join us, Moe! You’ll float too! We all float!
I remember liking the miniseries too. Well, at least until the reveal of what Pennywise was and how they defeated him. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it all felt like a letdown at the time.
IT is where I started till diverge from King. Pre-teen gang rapes – an acceptable plot device for a reliable lefty to use apparently – really don’t belong in pop novels.
