Seriously; somebody gimme a reason why Bruce Campbell SHOULDN’T host the Oscars. And they shouldn’t interfere with his artistic vision, either. It’d be entertaining, right? You’d think that they’d like to put on something entertaining.
And don’t underestimate the ‘finish on time’ part, either. That’s a promise with teeth in it. God knows that the Academy needs to install some order all up in that show, and right quick…
I would actually be tempted to watch the Oscars if I knew Bruce Campbell were going to host.

As much as I’m a Bruce Campbell fan, my interest in the Academy awards is well into the negative territory.

Only if he is allowed to host the Oscars in character, which would allow him to address the audience with the sentence, “All right, you primitive screwheads, listen up!”
I mostly know Campbell from Burn Notice, where he played the incredibly awesome Sam Axe. I don’t think he would call people “primitive screwheads” in that character. On the other hand, he would be impressively drunk.
