Oh, yeah, I used to say that about myself when I was a kid, and first noticed that most people typically read at a fraction of the speed that I could, and can. ‘Mutant’ sounded cool, right? It wasn’t a flashy superpower, but God knows it saved my butt enough times, so what the heck.
The problem is, I spent most of the day waiting to hear back feedback about the book. The 270 page book. I mean, I can polish that off in a couple of hours; can’t everybody else*?
I guess what I’m saying is, don’t feel shy to offer feedback once you finish FROZEN DREAMS. I assume that every new author feels this way? …And if you’re not yet a backer, feel free to hit the store.

*In this context, this isn’t bragging; this is a confession of neurosis.
Holy crap, how did I manage to miss the release? I had a calendar event set and have been keeping up on twitter all day!
My only defense is it’s been a crappy day. On the bright side, this book I’ve been REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO READING just came out and now I’m grabbing it down!
Well, you know, manage your expectations and all that. First novel, after all. 🙂
(I have been trying to comment all morning – I kept getting told to log in, and it would bring me back to this page, where it told me I had to log in to comment)
I started on it yesterday, but it’ll take me a few days to finish (I’m a slow reader with a lot of distractions, like kid and work), but I was relaying quotes from the book to my wife often enough that she’s antsy about getting a chance to read it.
So far, I like it (I’ve only finished 8 chapters). The noir-style narration definitely sets a mood that I enjoy. I have world-building questions, but it may be that I haven’t gotten to where those questions are answered.
Gnarled – I’ve been getting the same login-thing .. I find that logging in on a thread I *don’t* want to comment on – the music ones work well for that – and then clicking on the thread I *do* want to comment on works.
.
As for the book .. I’ve got the same mutation as Moe, but what I don’t have – right now – is **time**.
