I imagine that by now his regiment has gotten accustomed to the idea that they sometimes have disposable zombie troops on hand, developed tactics in how best to use them, and so forth. Having troops that can soak horrifying casualties without breaking and without inflicting real costs on the rest of the regiment (morale or otherwise) is *useful*. I’d imagine that they’re at least somewhat appreciative.
One random thought that occurred to me. In any universe where someone like Sauron or the Dominator is operating might have Edwin be high on their “suitable potential Nazgul” list and this might become a reason for player characters to be hired on as his bodyguards or as his rescuers. 🙂
