It’s not a hard explanation. It’s just a feedback loop.
As LLMs generate more and more content, more and more of the content scraped for training the LLMs are generated by LLMs.
With no intelligence (artificial or otherwise), much less a concept of objective reality acting as a filter, things get very surreal very quickly.
ChatGPT and the like are a Manhattan Project for information warfare, but if we’re lucky, they’ll be self-thwarting.
I “love” that my company is going deep into AI, just as the worst hallucinations are coming from the big players.
