The ‘Loan interest rates are up by HOW much?’ Buy My Books! post.

Or if not my books, then for Heaven’s sake buy somebody’s. People are always hustling for sales, in the independent publishing world – but this is not a great time in that particular section of the economy. If there’s an indy author that you haven’t bought from in a while, and you like what they do, they would dearly love for you to catch up on their back catalog.

I know, I know, this is supposed to be a nagging post about buying my stuff. They can do their own advertising and nagging and discreet begging. …I just worry, that’s all.

  1. Thank the deity of your choice, I don’t have any reasons to sell (and more painfully buy) real estate any time soon.

I plan to wait out this malaise…

  2. I derive a perverse entertainment from my lender begging me to refinance my fixed rate mortgage.
I might feel a tiny bit sorry for them, IF they stopped trying to convince me that they’re offering me a great deal. But since they’re flaunting the “amoral sociopath” badge…

  3. It’s not just independent authors who are pining for readers. Other authors are as well. For example, authors whose publisher burned down, fell over and sank into the swamp, who then (operating from a tin shed with no power or water) passed the author’s work to another publisher who never even contacted the author to introduce themselves after signing a contract over a year ago. Those guys could use some love too.
