Applied to vend at Doxacon again this year.

I went to Doxacon last year only mildly to sell books. What I really wanted to do there was meet Ken Hite in person for once, and to humbly bask in the terrible glory that is Tim Powers. I didn’t sell that many books, but I got to do the aforementioned meeting and basking, so there you go.

Anyway, Ken’s speaking again this year*, and this time they’re holding it at the Catholic University of America (November 1 & 2). I have been told that the loading/unloading situation accordingly will be much easier this year. Hopefully they’ll also be able to put all the vendors together, too. Doxacon was a fun convention last year; I wouldn’t mind making it a regular vendor stop.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a spot!

*”Writer and game designer Kenneth Hite examines the concept of the numinous, and offers possible methods and techniques to express or incorporate the divine experience within the design and play of tabletop roleplaying games. Questions encouraged, answers not guaranteed.” …Dang. That’s like catnip to me. I can talk about that concept as it related to In Nomine for an hour, easy.

  1. Moe:”Hi Mr Hite, can you sign my book?”
KH:”I don’t recognize this one, are you sure I wrote this?”
Moe, probably: “No this is literally my book that I wrote and published, can you sign it anyway?”
