…or “bearers of water:”
Florida Democratic congressional candidate Alex Sink said immigration reform was important at a Tuesday debate because, without it, it would be difficult for employers to find people to clean hotel rooms and do landscaping.
“Immigration reform is important in our country,” she said. “We have a lot of employers over on the beaches that rely upon workers and especially in this high-growth environment, where are you going to get people to work to clean our hotel rooms or do our landscaping? We don’t need to put those employers in a position of hiring undocumented and illegal workers.”
Come, I will conceal nothing from you: half the readers of RedState would call me a pro-amnesty squish when it comes to immigration issues. But I have a better reason for that stance than Hey, I want faster towel service from the beachfront cabana. Apparently, Alex Sink does not – and she’s remarkably unconscious of the way she presents her opinions, too.
And let us not even start to discuss where Alex Sink apparently places Latinos and Asians in her vision of society, if only because after a while you have to develop a sort of weary contemptuous resignation at the way that liberal politicians simply don’t listen to their own rhetoric…

PS: David Jolly is the Republican in this particular special election.
This is so full of bizarre that “this high-growth environment” doesn’t even get a mention.
As one of those hyper conservative redstaters who followed you over here, I realize you are somewhat of a squish on immigration. But at least your reasons make some sense, unlike the supercilious Ms. Sink

Yes when one is a liberal, one constantly frets about where one will find a good Asian to do one’s laundry or a good African American to nanny one’s children. Listening to their childlike laughter while sitting on the veranda is always such a delight.
Bigots, one and all.
