10/23/20 Update, the TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter.

We continue to move along with TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION. It’s definitely at a lower level of intensity, though. This is good data to have! And, of course, it’s much better to wonder if I’m going to hit all the current stretch goals than it is to worry whether I’m going to fund the blessed thing in the first place.

Note, though: I have in mind a nice little deal if we do hit all the current stretch goals. At that point I’ll have some opportunity to offer a bit more.

10/22/20 Update, TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter.

As I said before, I think the TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter is going very well… as long as I don’t have an unreasonable expectation for it. We picked up a couple more people pledging, and we’ve hit the first stretch goals. I really do expect to hit the current ones by the end of the Kickstarter, although if it bursts through tomorrow and I make ten grand by the end I shan’t complain, either. I n the meantime: slow and steady wins the race. Particularly when you’ve carefully set up the racecourse ahead of time.

10/21/20 Update, TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter.

It’s been a good two days, so far: TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION has funded, and has hit its first stretch goal! Each pledge at $10 or higher will also receive a digital short story sampler of three additional stories. It’ll increase to a maximum of six, which will undoubtedly become the core of the next short story collection.

I also guessed right, alas: I suspected that the first Kickstarter had a pent-up head of steam behind it which would not be present here, and I was correct. But that’s not really a problem. I designed this Kickstarter to let me recoup my expenses in bringing this book to print, and it’s already working. Spend money to make money, and all that.

That being said: feel free to pass the link around. I wouldn’t mind at all if this Kickstarter hit ten grand. I have a plan if it does, too.

The TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter funded!

Thanks, folks! TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION even funded in half a day, which is real nice. I had it pegged for a couple of days, based on the fully expected comparatively lower interest in this project. But what do I know, huh?

The stretch goals are already up: at this stage I’m merely offering another short story sampler. Three stories, at least one original, with three more potentially available at higher goals. Will one of them be another standalone Tom Vargas story? Maybe.

Again, thanks!

The TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter is live.

BEHOLD! The second book of the FERMI RESOLUTION future history! TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION, Volume 1: SHADOW OF THE TOWER combines Patreon-published stories set in the Fermi Resolution fantasy setting (six of which were collected previously in a Kickstarter-exclusive sampler), and several new ones written specifically for this volume. It’s an epic span of stories, stretching across the continent. Humor, adventure, action, and defiance… for looming above all these stories is the cruel and vindictive mage-empire known as the Universal Dominion. All of these tales are told… in the shadow of the Tower.

Two more days until the TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Kickstarter!

And am I worried? Pshaw! And tut-tut! And a bunch of other nonsense words! I will say that I’ve been needing to regulate my expectations a bit, here: TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Vol 1 is, when all is said and done, not my first novel. I have to expect that this Kickstarter may go significantly differently than the last one. I need to do it, because I need to get a backlist up and available and crowdfunding is the best way to do it; but one of my hopes here is to generate enough funds so that I don’t have to Kickstart the next one.

But that’s a consideration for a later date. The important thing is to get this one off the ground. It starts up Tuesday! Hope to see you there.
