I got to page VIII in Neil Gaiman’s intro before I realized I was about to start weeping. So that’s where we are this morning. Damn, I miss Mike. We never met face to face, only knowing each other from a long-defunct SJG in-house forum, and I still miss him terribly. He was one of the best of us, and it’s just not fair.
Anyway, here’s the book (non-Tor edition). Just so you know, going in: ASPECTS is unfinished. Dammit.

Come, I will conceal nothing from you: ASPECTS was written by John M. Ford but not published during his life, and that is both a good and a bad thing to hear. I am happy to get one last book out of Mike after all, you understand. It was a rough day when we heard that he had suddenly passed. But… I’ve written my own books, since then. I know what a good editor can do for a manuscript. And I worry that a proper editing job wasn’t done here.
But I ordered it in paperback, so I guess we’ll see how it goes.
