Tweet of the Day, THIS Is The @BarackObama Administration, In One Tweet edition.

I’m impressed, really.

The more you look at it, the more depressing the message gets.

Quote of the Day, @BarackObama Still Has The Jonah’s Touch edition.

It’s a miracle that Barack Obama gets invited anywhere, anymore.

A Minneapolis light rail test train derailed shortly after President Obama lauded the expansion of the system, the Pioneer Press of St. Paul, Minn., reports.

Obama touted the expansion of Minnesota’s Metro light rail system to St. Paul, which is scheduled to open in June, as an example for the nation to follow. Hours later, a train ran off the tracks.

Although I suppose that there’s no such thing as a Jonah.

My inexplicable fisking of a Barack Obama fundraising email.

Really, I have no idea why I did this.

To Me

Hi, Barry! Can I call you ‘Barry?’ – I don’t care: you work for me, not the other way around. Barry it is, then, fellow-citizen. Who will be out of office in less than three years, so don’t get huffy about it.

Barry. Continue reading My inexplicable fisking of a Barack Obama fundraising email.

Keywords: Barack Obama, Cult of Personality, 2010-2020, Democrats

This post is written for researchers from the year 2044 who are wondering about the following:

[MEGYN] KELLY: We heard a lot of objections when President Bush expanded the powers of the presidency from the left and from the media. They haven’t been raising the same objections now that we have a Democrat in The White House. And you say they do so at their own peril.

[JONATHAN] TURLEY: I’m afraid this is beginning to border on a cult of personality for people on the left. I happen to agree with many of President Obama’s policies, but in our system it is often as important how you do something as what you do.

And I think that many people will look back at this period in history and see nothing but confusion as to why people remained so silent when the president asserted these types of unilateral actions.

Liberals desperately trying to maintain political financing monopoly.

Man, there are people out there who really do hate not having a hammerlock on the spigots anymore.

Some big Democratic donors have a message for Congress: Don’t rely so much on the rich to fill your campaign war chests.

A group of 60 wealthy donors and activists have signed onto a new letter urging Congress to create a system of public financing that would curtail their own influence in elections, according to a copy of the letter being sent to the Hill on Friday.

@BarackObama ‘offers’ to stay out of 2014 Senate races.

Offers.’

President Barack Obama has told Senate Democrats that he’s willing to stay away from election battles where his presence would not be helpful, a Democratic source said — an apparent nod to his poll numbers.

Obama’s comments came when he and former President Bill Clinton attended the Senate Democrats’ issues conference at Nationals Park on Wednesday.

Sources at the meeting said Obama assured Democrats that maintaining control of the Senate is his top priority this year.

Quote of the Day, I’ve Seen This Argument Before edition.

Heck, I’ve made this argument before, although I don’t remember if I ever did publicly. Mark Thiessen:

Americans have lost confidence not only in Obama’s competence but also in the competence of the federal government. And therein lies the great, unintended conservative achievement of the Obama presidency: Barack Obama has done more to discredit the cause of big government than a thousand Reagan speeches ever did.

This is one reason, by the way, that I take with a grain of salt most assertions that the President has a Secret Plan to radically change the country: based on the clown show that I’ve been watching for the last five years, we’d be a good deal safer if Obama did.  The real problem with Barack Obama is that he’s at his most dangerous when he’s trying his best.

Labor unions utterly betrayed by #obamacare.

Try to restrain your evil laughter.

Labor leaders who have spent months lobbying unsuccessfully for special protections under the Affordable Care Act warned this week that the White House’s continued refusal to help is dampening union support for Democratic candidates in this year’s midterm elections.

Leaders of two major unions, including the first to endorse Obama in 2008, said they have been betrayed by an administration that wooed their support for the 2009 legislation with promises to later address the peculiar needs of union-negotiated insurance plans that cover millions of workers.

#Obamacare refuses to pay for sick kids’ care in Seattle, Washington. Like it does.

Back when Obamacare was all shiny and new, I was in the habit of calling it ‘health care rationing.’ I did this because I knew that you can’t have ‘less people uninsured’ AND ‘lower prices’ AND ‘improved services’ – and I assumed that the government would choose the first two and let the third go away on the wind. I got out of the habit of using the term ‘health care rationing’ because before the Obamacare launch it became clear that the government wasn’t going to manage ‘lower prices,’ either – and after the launch it’s becoming increasingly clear that they’re not going to manage ‘less people uninsured,’ either. In short: the word ‘Obamacare’ itself is sufficient warning.

But it remains true that we’re rationing care now.  Kids’ care, too [link added: sorry!].  Continue reading #Obamacare refuses to pay for sick kids’ care in Seattle, Washington. Like it does.
