I fully get that there are people who don’t like DUNE: PART TWO, and I can understand their reasoning. Denis Villeneuve compressed a bunch of the timeline, removed two major characters without much if any in the way of explanation, and altered the ending (presumably to make his vision for DUNE MESSIAH work out better). These are not minor changes. There’s nothing wrong with disapproving of them.
But, you know, I didn’t get particularly upset with the lack of Tom Bombadil and The Scouring of the Shire in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and I’m a lot more emotionally invested in Middle Earth than I am Dune. So I’m maintaining an even strain. Nobody else has to, obviously. It’s cool.
