Good vacation, but I got work to do.

Annnnd we’re back.
Regular posting resumes tomorrow. It was a good trip, but a long one, for some reason. Maybe I’m just getting old?
The kids are back, my wife is back…
…the cars are all unloaded and I am ready to take yet another shower to get the sweat-stink off. It was a very fun weekend, except for all the driving. There was a lot of driving, including out of state and on country roads, which were awesome to look at even when I wasn’t quite sure where I was going… anyway. Normal posting starts up again tomorrow.
[UPDATE] One case of heat cramps (I hope) later, let me amend: all posting starts up again tomorrow. Dagnabbit, I’m old.
Annnd I’m back.
It was a nice weekend – well, overnight trip. We didn’t let the schedule mixup wreck our outing; and, honestly, there are worse things to do during an afternoon than make your own candy bar. Although my wife had to kind of restrain herself from doing a full robotics lecture.
I figure that regular posting can resume tonight. Got a bunch of stuff to put up, publish, yadda yadda anyway. Might as well get back to it…
Back a day early.
Just could not sleep well while traveling this week. Just as well; I suspect that the roads are going to be extra-dangerous this year. There were umpteen accidents on the various roads we took today.
Well, I’m back…
…with a nice, full head of steam, too. As you will probably see in a couple of hours. I’m a big believer in taking out my frustrations (one lane of traffic, at one point. Forty minutes to go four miles) on worthy targets…
Well, the good news is that the new computer works.
The bad news is that I cannot in fact access my old hard drive. This is only a mildly frustrating problem – I can eventually get somebody to yank the files I need – but it does mean that I will have to do quite a bit of pulling and yanking and finding stuff that I’ve forgotten that I had installed until the lack bites me on the tuchus.
Still. The new computer has definite advantages. Like USB ports that don’t disintegrate when you look at them funny.
Annnnnd I return.
Colonial Williamsburg. There was rum. There were ribs. There was my wife getting some valuable spa time. There were my kids learning to play mini-golf. And there was rum.
Well, I’m back.

PS: Nasty weather this weekend, huh? Indeed, my wife reports sleet. Sounds like a perfect opportunity for dry socks – oh, so dry – and hot chicken noodle soup.
