You can always tell when I watch certain movies, hey? Although in this case I decided that the hero of “A Favor” might not be quite that noble, after all. The temptation not to be would be strong.

Patreon Microfiction: ‘Inheritance.’
Although I freely admit that there are tons of ethics questions still being raised in ‘Inheritance.’ Possibly even harder ones than the ones involving black magic. But that’s not the mage’s problem, is it?
Patreon Microfiction: “Conniving Good.”
There is absolutely a longer story in “Conniving Good,” but I’m not exactly sure how it’d go. To be completely honest about it, it’d involve themes that I vaguely associate with tiresome people on the Internet. I’d rather not find out too late that that sort of thing is contagious.
Patreon Microfiction: ‘Hitman’s Holiday.’
I feel that “Hitman’s Holiday” would make for a, ha, killer manga. I just can’t draw anime — or, indeed, much of anything else — which is a real pity. But, hey, if anybody ever comes along, sees and likes this, and does have the ability to draw anime? Get in touch. I’m not free, but in this case it’d just be for the principle of the thing.
Patreon Microfiction: “The Power of Spite Compels You.”
I enjoyed writing “The Power of Spite Compels You” without wanting to write more of it. I mean, the main character isn’t exactly a Righteous Dude, or anything like that. Just clearly somebody who’s oft ready to mar himself some evil.
Patreon Microfiction: ‘If I Had A Hammer.’
The more I think of it, the more the concept of ‘If I Had A Hammer’ (blame this for the basic idea) makes sense. It would be a handy thing to have. Straight up.
Patreon Microfiction: ‘Iterations.’
Gonna be honest: it’s OK, but I’m not sure how awesome ‘Iterations’ is. I probably shouldn’t say that; yet, here we are. But it’s not awful! Just not spectacular.
Patreon microfiction: Not the True Quill.
“Not the True Quill” represents an urge of mine to write mashups of pulp SF and pulp detective stories. Yeah, I probably should. I probably should do a lot of things, really.
Patreon Microfiction: ‘Swap Meet.’
‘Swap Meet’ illustrates the wonderful thing about trading: it’s one of those endeavors where both parties can legitimately walk away from a successful deal and think Man, but I got that sucker good. There’s something marvelous about that, really. As about capitalism in general (which is merely that principle, writ large).
Patreon Microfiction: Grunt.
‘Grunt’ was… OK, look, I don’t even know how the military would handle this, OK? I had to guess. It’s still a funny image, I feel.
