Wow. This Norwegian show ‘Occupied’ is really interesting.

I don’t have time to watch it, but I might have to anyway.  Basically, Occupied is about the Russians kind of quietly taking over Norway in response to Norway stopping fossil fuel energy production. Interesting for three reasons: one, it’s weird to see an ostensibly Green politician actually like nuclear energy*.  Two, it’s weird hearing this much English being spoken in a foreign television production. Three, the first episode at least is remarkably clear-headed about… well, I don’t do politics anymore, so suffice it to say that my readers might find this show of interest.

On Netflix, so freely available there if you have a subscription.

*Although that may simply be my local experience talking. For all I know Europeans love the stuff.

Netflix would like to let you now that BOOM, BABY, they got first crack at Disney and Marvel now.

Here we go:

From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive U.S. pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s head of content, wrote on their company blog.

…Dannnnnnng. I mean, you can get a bunch of the old stuff from most of those shops at any given time; but exclusive first-look?  That’s pretty neat-o, if you have Netflix. Which I do.

So, I watched the first episode of Jessica Jones last night.

It’s not bad – in fact, it was pretty good – but there’s just something about it that I can’t put my finger on. Not so much off, as different. And I don’t even know if it’s bad-different.  Anybody with any thoughts on this, or should I just watch a couple more episodes and it will all make sense suddenly?
