Shazam! Fury of the Gods

The SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Honest Trailer.

It’s mean, but Honest Trailers does have a point about SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS getting caught up in all that BLACK ADAM drama. And I liked those movies. …Which is kind of meaningless, seeing as I can watch something like MORBIUS and say, Ehh, it wasn’t ALL bad. So maybe don’t listen to me on this one?

My mini-review of SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS.

Short version: 54% of critics are wrong, this is a fun flick.

In which we see rather more context for the gods’ aforementioned fury.

I’m looking forward to this: SHAZAM! was remarkably wholesome and endearing, and hopefully they didn’t mess with the settings much for SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS. Of course, I’m easygoing when it comes to movies. We all know this.

I’m down for both, but more for SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS. The BLACK ADAM flick is kind of growing on me, though. The first trailers were a little iffy, but this one seems a lot more smoothed out.

I liked SHAZAM! a lot, as you may recall: it was sweet, decent (in the ethical sense), and it didn’t sneer at the source material. It was obviously silly, but I was there for that. I look forward to SHAZAM!: FURY OF THE GODS, and… Please, God: don’t let it suck.

But this is the fun news: “Shazam! Fury of the Gods will now see the Shazam family going up against much more dangerous threats, with the introductions of the daughters of Atlas, Hespera, and Kalypso, who are set to be portrayed by Oscar winner Helen Mirren and Kill Bill actress Lucy Liu.” Mirren and Liu? …I’ll allow it.
