I just… hit a brick wall. I blame the kids’ midterms, mixed with the weather. Everybody’s sleep patterns is for the birds. See you in the morning…

Early bedtime.
Today and yesterday were full of issues; hopefully tomorrow will have fewer of them. In either case, I kind of have the Sleep Madness. Time to hit the hay.
Ah, the Sleep Madness.
As in, I need to get some. It was the first day back to school for the kids, so I was up too early. And I was up too late the night before. I need to reestablish better sleep patterns.
Which I hate, but I’ll be 55 this year. So I best start keeping that in mind.
I have the Sleep Madness.
I need to not stay up tonight. I’ve been dragging all day, mostly because this week has been lowkey very busy and I apparently drew down my reserves too much. Time for an early night’s sleep…

PS: Oh, yeah, buy books or something.

The Sleep Madness has come.
I’ve been hit with a huge wave of tired. I gotta go sleep. Have a good night. Buy my books.

Sleep Madness has hit.
I know that this hasn’t been a fun blog, today. Sorry. There’s something deeply unsettling about having the word ‘neurological’ show up out of the blue during what you thought was a routine eye exam, even if it turns out to be a low-probability event. I need to flip laundry and go to sleep.
So, I have to deal with eye stuff today.
I’ve been having a little trouble with double vision in the morning, and when I went to go get glasses, the eye doctor insisted I get that checked out with meaningful but not panicky speed. Fortunately, there’s a place just down the road that can do tests today. After looking up everything, I’m pretty sure it’s not diabetes (would have shown up in the retinal pictures), multiple sclerosis (no other symptoms), an aneurysm (ditto), or a stroke (either my wife or I would have noticed that). It’s almost certainly because I go to bed too late and get up too early*, but best to check it out anyway.
*I mean, I’m yawning as I write this. I was proud of myself because I got just over six hours last night, for once. Guess who’s going to no longer hear the chimes of midnight, dammit?
Okay, I am in the depths of the Sleep Madness (COVENANTS now in paperback!).
It’s so bad I actually forgot to mention that you can now get COVENANTS in paperback. But! I got the newsletter out, which is the important thing. Time to crash.
Sleep Madness!
I was tossing and turning all night, and had to crash at 10 AM to try and get more sleep. I actually did get some, but I’m still vaguely slow and stupid. I might try to get some more sleep, in fact.
So if I sound weirder than usual, that’s why.
Sleep Madness has taken its toll.
Slept poorly last night, staggering around today. I need to get some sleep. Buy my books! – And somebody remind me tomorrow that I had a question I wanted to ask.
