Disney and Marvel’s latest, The Marvels, was a fun time at the movies, but it unfortunately didn’t do so well at the box office, which is kind of on par with superhero flicks at the moment. Some say it’s superhero fatigue, some say it’s the studio’s choice of quantity over quality, some may even say that movies haven’t completely rebounded from the setbacks from the pandemic, and while it may be a mix of everything, no one is saying it’s because there aren’t enough executives involved, at least no one besides Disney CEO Bob Iger.

The ‘Running out of steam?’ THE MARVELS trailer.

Very possibly. And I won’t lie; I’ll miss the ride, if it’s over. It was fun*. They are claiming that THE MARVELS is supposed to be silly, though. That might be enough.

*My opinion on what they should have done, post-ENDGAME, would have been: dial it all back. One MCU movie a year, low-stakes that stuff, and used Disney+ to prepare the way for the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Oh, and THOR: LOVE AND ROCKETS should have been a TV show, too.
