Mostly because the sequel to Toy Story 2 is out (Toy Story 3), and by all accounts it’s yet another goram spectacular Pixar movie. It’s starting to get embarrassing, the way that Pixar can’t seem to help but make insanely good movies…
I’ll bet you didn’t know that a bunch of the scenes from “Escape from NY” were filmed in St. Louis. Back at the time (mid-70s), our old “Union Station” train station was abandoned and made a perfect setting for a bombed-out urban scene. A couple of my friends from high school got jobs as extras in those scenes.
Shortly thereafter, they renovated Union Station, and it’s been a tourist attraction since, although (real) gang activity has driven quite a bit of the business away over the last 5 or so years…sad.
