Obelophage Therapy

This particular Forbidden Book purports to be a self-help tome (author is “Tony Pat Haler,” and the book is published in 1994 by a North American publisher that doesn’t actually exist) for people looking for financial success.  A casual perusal of the book suggests that it simply rehashes the hoary old concept of ‘you have to spend money to make money; unfortunately, only a casual perusal of the book is at all safe.  Even one reading of Obelophage Therapy can be enough to infect the victim’s mind.

A careful reading of the book will soon ‘reveal’ to the student that the author is very serious about consuming money to make money.  In fact, interwoven throughout Obelophage Therapy is a spell that, when cast, reliably produces large amounts of cash.  The hitch? Part of the ritual of the spell is that you feed money to something living, wait an hour, and then ritually sacrifice it via evisceration.  The money will appear in the victim’s stomach; the more developed the animal, the more valuable the currency.  And, yes, human sacrifices produce the most cash of all.

As you might imagine, this book is burn-on-sight.  And it does get burned!  …And then another copy turns up.  Apparently, somebody really wants Obelophage Therapy in circulation.
