The tentative title is Frozen Dreams, and it’s an expansion of “Frozen Out In Cin City.” I decided that there really was a novel hidden in there. 1,674 words, with a lot of them salvaged from the short story. But that’s OK. The idea is to start, right?

Well, you’re doing a danged sight better than me. I have 180 words. Hopefully that will change in the next hour or so.
I ended up being able to use a lot from the beginning of the story.
It pains me to notice all your best stories, like this and Frogman Prince, you go great lengths to reach a Dad-joke punchline.
I’m trying to avoid it for the book. 🙂
Nothing wrong with humor… and something about Cin City suggests humor will be needed.
.
If the dad jokes punctuate chapters or sections, all good.

Oh it’s not a criticism, you are a Dad after all: Whatever get the creative juices going. But as the son of an established Dad-joker, it is likewise my duty to groan and cringe publicly in response.
I heard some guy named Card did this once; how did that work out for him?
