NanoWrimo, Day 18: 1697/30230

1,697/30,230.

I almost decided to include the several hundred words I put together to actually tie down the plot in today’s total.  But then the exorcism went well.  So I didn’t have to.

Dang thing’s sort of 60% done.  Doesn’t feel like it, but we’re getting there.

  1. I haven’t checked my word count since the first day. It is not something I care to see.
I believe I have fallen prey to Hubris.
Never try to write a novel because someone dared you. Some might be able to do it, but for most of us, it doesn’t end well. Which is to say, it probably won’t end at all.

      1. Oh, I was only speaking for myself. I applaud your consistency…it’s just something I am lacking this time around. That’s what happens when you try to write a novel about an up and coming hip-hop artist who goes on a canoe trip down the Allagash. Especially if you don’t know anything about hip-hop, and have never visited the Allagash.

I wrote gangster rap, and it is painful. Really painful, like needles covered in rat feces being slowly inserted into your eyes kind of painful.
