The thing I am most pleased with in ‘Out of Period’ is ‘fersure-ly.’ I mean, it’s an obscure joke even for me, but to me and a bunch of other recreationists it’s pretty good. That’ll do.

Heh. Having been to many renfaires and a pennsic … totally makes sense.
Different camps, different LARPs running concurrently, it’s quite fascinating.

“Old America” Faires sound positively, delightfully horrible.
Oh, my, yes. Just one example: consider how we think of Vikings and Mongols today, compared to how people who had to live alongside them did. Now extrapolate.
Then there’s historical attitudes towards witchcraft.. and renfaire attitudes toward same.
It’s quite amusing, imagining how current reality will be recorded in the his’try books, and then strip-mined by … well, Olde American Faires seems a reasonable option.
