It may in fact be too late already. I have no opinion on the subject. But I think that, if AHSOKA fails, Disney will have managed to achieve what was once thought impossible: it will have taken an incredibly popular IP, and then smashed it beyond repair.
This is the last remaining unspoiled bit of Star Wars. There are no fallback positions left. They [expletive deleted] this up, it’s over and somebody will be able to acquire various rights to the wreckage for pennies on the dollar.
Just the way it is, man. Just the way it is.
As if they’d ever give the IP up. They’ll put it in the vault and wait a generation to try again, if they’re smart. Otherwise they’ll just keep “trying”. Has Disney ever sold off an IP?
I think the last time was Walt himself, with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
He hated it so much he started his company, at great personal hardship, so that he’d never have to do that again.
I’m fresh out of last chances.
Even their own IP cannot escape the cancer.
They can’t even get “Snow White” to be…. *waves hands meaningfully*
I’m one of the few people who enjoyed Rebels enough to watch this, but if they don’t let the Sith and Thrawn actually be villains that threaten the New Republic, I’ll probably stop watching.
It helped that Ahsoka in Mando was well played, but that was also in selected scenes only.
I enjoyed Rebels. I was annoyed that their obvious redemption candidate stabbed the grand inquisitor in the gut at the end of the 2nd episode of Obiwan Kenobi. So annoyed, in fact, that I never watched the rest of the show. It would take a really, really glowing review from someone I trust to get me to even consider getting Disney+ again to watch Ahsoka.
