…I get the feeling that Marvel just doesn’t have the same reserves of interesting and gotta-watch that it used to have. It’s drained its creative batteries to dangerous levels, wasted too much of its juices on poorly-chosen projects, and generally run out of steam. The fires are guttering; and when they’re finally out, they’re out.
On the bright side: if this first episode is any indication, they’ve decided to use up whatever’s left for LOKI, Season 2. Because where has this Marvel been? This episode was solid! I’m ready again to catch each new one as it comes out! It’s horrible that this is now high praise for a MCU project!
Ach, how the mighty have fallen.
As dull as it was, I am more interested in watching Loki 2-2 than another episode of Ahsoka. Which is sad, because in Clone Wars she was one of my favorite characters.
And she was okay in the Mando episodes, but I should have seen the signs when “okay” was good enough in live action.
Apparently there are those in Lucasfilm who think Loki’s premiere 24 hours after the Ahsoka was some kind of retaliation, rather than executive overreach. (They really thought Ahsoka was going to be a hit.)
I’m ignoring Ashoka .. because the expanded universe stories IMO never caught the vision of the original… so I’ll wait until I’m bored and just binge watch it.
Loki, though.. the anti-hero is something I can relate to.
