Don’t know what’s gonna happen to this fellow yet. But how awful could it be?

05/11/2020 Snippet, MARIE AND THE CONTINENT.
I have a little side project in mind, just so that I’m not living and breathing the Fermi Resolution entirely for the rest of the year. If I do this smart, I can get another book out of it, too. I just need to commit to 500 words a day to MARIE AND THE CONTINENT (working title) until it’s done. Fortunately, I already have about 9,000 words of it written (as MY HOLIDAY IN KASSEL).
Patreon Microfiction: Fear Quite a Bit.
If you take nothing else from this website, take this: do not mess around with angels. You know Why every encounter of them starts with them saying “Fear not?” It’s because nobody survives the encounters where they don’t start off that way.
05/09/2020 Book Report, FROZEN DREAMS.
Got the backlog of chapters finished. Something like five to go. My editor told me that one particular passage was hampered by not having enough monkeys, so that had to be addressed, obviously. I also added another pledge level to the Backerkit, just in case we get some people who never got around to pledging. I can offer a digital rewards deal that will be mutually beneficial, and so forth. I mean, everything’s paid for at this point anyway.
Book of the Week: ‘The Unexpected Enlightenment of Rachel Griffin.’
L. Jagi Lamplighter’s The Unexpected Enlightenment of Rachel Griffin was recommended to me by Constant Reader Luke, and I’ve been trying to read it ever since. You’d think that a situation where nobody’s allowed to go anywhere would have more free time; but, no. Oh, well, it’s up on the Kindle now.

I need to get off my butt and finish processing these revisions. I wasn’t even going to mention that, except that I need to make a confession. You see, I just had to type out the following sentence, and I am ashamed of myself that somebody needed to point out the problem that made me write it:
Dammit, I should have realized that there weren’t enough monkeys.
And this is why editors are good, brothers and sisters.

Prepped another short story to be looked at, got another chapter back from the editor, and this has been pretty much the way of it for the last few days. I’d wish for some excitement, except that I don’t actually want any. I’d like it all to be dull as dishwasher until the funds come in and I can spend money on stuff.
05/07/2020 Snippet, TRIPLE TRIAGE.
Not as much written tonight as I’d like. Computer debugging continues.
The “A Study In Scarlet and Blue” webcomic.
A Study in Scarlet and Blue is a fan-made AU* Spider-Man webcomic made by Meg Syverud (who also does the very good Daughter of the Lilies). I like this one because Meg has a real feel for how Spidey moves and talks; her portrayal of him is very organic. I also like the B&W format. It feels clean and elegant.
Check it out.

*Alternate Universe. No spoilers, but you’ll figure it out right quickly.
05/06/2020 Book Report, FROZEN DREAMS.
I mostly spent today troubleshooting computers and trying to help my kids with their classwork, but I got another short story processed and I just got a chapter back from the editor. Seven more chapters after this one, and it’s done! If everything works out, we might even get the e-book ready by the end of the month. Which would be awesome. I’m gonna need all the time I can get to make sure the RPG supplement’s in proper shape.
