Tweet of the Day, The New PS5 Pro Doesn’t Come With A CD Drive, Either edition.

…Wait, what? I know, I know: the young people don’t buy physical media anymore. The young people also don’t have seven hundred bucks to throw at a platform, and the people that do don’t want to buy new copies of all their old games.

Seriously, folks, just buy a dang PC. Most of the games will end up there anyway and you can use it for other things, too.

RIP, James Earl Jones.

Ninety three is a good run, and ‘revered’ is not an exaggeration. My prayers and condolences to his family and loved ones.

I am back!

Cars unloaded, showers taken, nap acquired; now is the time between that, and the time of grilling. Steaks / chicken thigh cutlets worked so well the last time, why not try it again? The weather is certainly cooperating…

PS: Helping with events is fun, but it’s an hour each way…

Light posting this weekend.

Doing field coordination for an SCA event this weekend. I thought about vending books, but events are actually hard places for me to sell; besides, I’m going to be running around tomorrow with my clipboard, little red flags, and my new three hundred foot tape measure rolling thing. Because that’s who I am, now. I’m the guy with the three hundred foot tape measure in the trunk of his car, right next to the WD-40 and the bug spray.

I’ll be around at various times until Sunday.

Tweet of the Day, Hey! I Got It To Work! edition.

All I had to do was add two extra steps where I manually create the embed on Twitter Publish, then put it in as HTML. Yay.

Oh, yeah, also: the people who did the Fyre Festival are stress-testing the aphorism “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

Let me also note that I’ve made private most of my pre-2016 content. I will be going in there later to put back up the absolute best of the political content, but I don’t do that anymore for a living and virtually nobody was watching the old stuff anyway. If anybody knows of a way to migrate them to a politics-only subchannel (or easily to a new one), I’ll do that instead.

Happy Labor Day!

We had to install a new wall AC unit more or less on the fly and I grilled steaks and boneless chicken thighs later. Also, there was beer, and the weather was perfect. All in all, the day was a net positive (the old AC unit was apparently not… up to snuff).

Regular posting tomorrow.
