I got nothing, sorry. Aside from the irony of realizing that 90% of my at-the-time objections to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra were based around my feeling like I was watching a live-action cartoon. Which was sort of the point, yes.

I think that I’m going to go watch the GI Joe movie now.
I wasn’t going to spend twenty bucks to see G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra – fairly or unfairly, the movie struck me as the director’s desire to make a movie about his three or four favorite action figures as a kid – but a buck rental was doable, and done.
Besides, today’s the aftermath.

And to answer his question… the reason why they bothered getting the licenses to this series and not E-Swat is because the director’s favorite GI JOE action figures as a child were clearly Baroness, Storm Shadow, and Snake Eyes. That’s why they’re recognizable in the movie, even when nobody else is.
Was that snide? That may have been snide.
