Looks like they’re looking at the Day of the Dead… from the other side. It looks like it might be endearing. And spooky without being horror. Works for me.

Tweet of the Day, We’re Not The Only Ones Wondering About The Cars Universe edition.
Pixar’s people have their own, highly macabre, theories as well.

The possibly-hopeful-maybe Cars 3 Trailer.
Come, I will conceal nothing from you: I would not be heartbroken to hear that all the people responsible for Pixar’s past rough patch had been unceremoniously fired from their jobs and were now in Japan doing knockoff animation. Not least because of the historical irony involved. But this? This does not look half-bad.
I would not object to Cars 3 not sucking. Neither would my kids, obviously.
The ‘Coco’ trailer. (Disney/Pixar)
Looks like Coco’s going to be Day of the Dead-style urban fantasy with a metric butt-ton of Spanish-style guitar playing, which means that I’m probably going to be buying the soundtrack during the second half of the movie. I am an absolute sucker for good acoustic guitar playing. And, oh yeah: Pixar movies, too.
The Cars 3 Trailer. I’m sorry, but I have to say it…
…I’ve got a bad feeling about this.
This may be going somewhere… dark.
Netflix would like to let you now that BOOM, BABY, they got first crack at Disney and Marvel now.
“From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive U.S. pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s head of content, wrote on their company blog.
…Dannnnnnng. I mean, you can get a bunch of the old stuff from most of those shops at any given time; but exclusive first-look? That’s pretty neat-o, if you have Netflix. Which I do.
‘Inside Out’ Trailer.
Anybody but Pixar, I’d raise an eyebrow.
And Pixar doesn’t quite bat 1.000 these days, at that. Still… not safe to bet that they can’t pull it off.
Your absolutely horrid thought of the day: Adolf Hitler exists in the Cars universe.
No, really.
@moelane @Neal_Dewing According to "Planes," World War Two occurred in the Cars Universe. Flashback battle scene and everything.

That’d make one hell of a reverse Downfall parody video, though. Up until the moment that the maker of it was sued into oblivion.

PS: By the way, The Pixar Theory is endlessly fascinating.
Annnnd Pixar’s “Brave” trailer.
This one may be more iffy: as my wife has noted, Pixar’s female characters are… not often all that distinguishable (her gold standard for a good female animated character is Disney’s Mulan*), and this may be conventional tween angst-fodder.
On the other hand, Pixar.
Moe Lane
*I’d back her up on this: Mulan would not be the only Disney princess who I’d allow to join my adventuring party, but she would be the only one that I’d let stand watch or take point right away.
The Trailer for Up.
Meh.
This looks likes it’s just going to be yet another freaking spectacular Pixar film.
Showoffs.

PS: Oh, look: it has a zeppelin.
