Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D, New York) still profanely covering up for her male colleague’s sexism.

What message does Senator Kirsten Gillibrand think that this is sending to people? “Don’t rock the boat?”

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is giving more details, and dropping f-bombs, about her experience with sexist comments she’s received about her weight, saying she couldn’t tell a male colleague “to go f—- himself.”

“At that moment, if I could have just disappeared, I would have. If I could have just melted in tears, I would have. But I had to just sit there and talk to him. And I switched the subject and I didn’t hear another word he said, but I wasn’t in a place where I could tell him to go f—- himself,” Gillibrand told HuffPost Live in an interview posted Monday.

Point of Order: Ashley Judd did not withdraw from KY-SEN because of a semi-nude shoot.

For the record: I happen to agree that there is a fluorescent double standard in American politics when one candidate for NYC comptroller previously went to jail for providing prostitutes to another candidate for NYC comptroller – and if you haven’t watched Jake Tapper throw metaphorical acid in the face of Eliot Spitzer yet, well: here you go.

You’d think that would stop being funny.  But it doesn’t. Continue reading Point of Order: Ashley Judd did not withdraw from KY-SEN because of a semi-nude shoot.

Madison libtalker Jon Sylvester being vile. Again.

This is what Madison, Wisconsin liberal talk show host John “Sly” Sylvester said last week about Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch on WTDY (office line 608-273-1000; Program Director Rex Charger) :

‘Would you like to move to Wisconsin? Would you like to move CouponCabin to Wisconsin? I’m Rebecca Kleefisch. I performed fellatio on all the talk show hosts in Milwaukee. And they endorsed me and that’s how I became lieutenant governor. And then I got colon cancer and I ran around the state to help people. Even though I have government health care, screw everyone else.’

More via Michelle Malkin: yes, in fact, that was a liberal male accusing a conservative female politician of being a literal prostitute (and mocking her for being a cancer survivor).   The man later admitted that his remarks might have gone a little too far*, which suggests that his host WTDY (office line 608-273-1000; Program Director Rex Charger) may be getting some heat for yet another bout of misogyny.  Yes, “another:” would you be surprised to hear that there’s a history there?  – You see, back in 2004 Sylvester used racist language against conservative and Republican African-Americans.  And let’s not forget the rape fantasies that this guy has.  That one’s from 2005, by the way.  The man seems to have quite the fascination with conservative women, in fact; and not in a particularly… gentle… way, either. Worse than you think, Ace.

When you’re a Democrat, not only can you use “I’m sleeping with her” as a stealth job prerequisite for an US Attorney’s positionHI, Senator Max Baucus (D) of Montana! – but when you’re a Democrat you can also publicly disrespect inconveniently conscientious female journalists (even if they’re African-American ones) when they insist on doing their jobs. Although I will admit that at least Bobby Gibbs didn’t use the word ‘uppity’ in public:

Yet.  They’ll be saving it for after the midterms, no doubt.

Chris Matthews, Howard Fineman sexualize their digs at Gov. Palin.

It’s not surprising that Matthews isn’t visible in this clip. He’s the sort who’ll hide his face during an attack:

…and unlike Ed Morrissey I don’t assume class from anybody at Newsweek until proven otherwise – which is a working methodology that has been completely justified by Howard Fineman’s example. But if you disagree that Fineman’s not reachable, well, his email’s webeditors@newsweek.com and the main number for Newsweek in NYC is 212-445-4000. Don’t let them give you the 800 number: those people just handle magazine subscriptions.

Sorry, folks, but this is part of the price of being a more activist party. You have to be, well, active. That means, among other things, emailing and calling about offensive stuff, instead of just stewing about them.

PS: For any Democratic women reading this: do yourself a favor, and run this past your male Democratic friends and loved ones without revealing your own opinion on the subject. The ones who laugh are the ones who’ll talk about you, or go around you, behind your back.

Hey, I’m just the messenger.
