I got reminded that they’re open until the middle of July (the link’s here). Before you ask: alas, I do not have an eligible book this time: FROZEN DREAMS was published before the period started, and TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION is a collection of short stories, not a novel. But I agree with Declan Finn that the Dragon Awards matter, and you should nominate the books published in the last year that you’ve read and liked.
Also, STORM BETWEEN THE STARS is a rather good book.
That’s always the right answer for ‘What do you get an author?’ A sale, o my droogies. You get them a sale.
Anyway: if you haven’t gotten Karl Gallagher’s Storm Between the Stars yet first get that, then get its sequel Between Home and Ruin. Both SF, both space opera, I’m in the middle of the second one now. Buy his books! They’re good and it’s his birthday.
I started Karl Gallagher’s Storm Between the Stars this evening. ‘Tis good! Got that space opera vibe that I like, with a nice quasi-nautical theme to it that sounds like it’s been thought out. Check it out; I think readers here will like it.
I suspect that Storm Between the Stars will be hitting paperback soon, but if you don’t want to wait there’s always the Kindle version. It’s space opera and Karl’s a good dude. Check it out!
